At the Republican Party of Minnesota convention for Senate District 17, Andrew Lang was officially endorsed for re-election to a second term in the Minnesota State Senate. Lang was endorsed by unanimous consent at the convention, which was held via teleconferencing due to the extraordinary circumstances.
“I am grateful for the support of my fellow Republicans in Chippewa, Kandiyohi, Renville, and Swift counties and I want to thank them for their endorsement. I am so proud to be part of such an active group of people committed to defending our values,” said Lang. “It is more important than ever that we have a state senator with the experience, leadership, and relationships necessary to deliver for our area — and that’s why I’m running for re-election. As the Republican-endorsed candidate, I’m looking forward to asking the people of District 17 for their continued trust and support.”
Lang was elected to the Minnesota Senate in 2016, defeating the DFL incumbent by a double digit margin. He serves as vice chair of the Senate Veterans and Military Affairs Finance and Policy Committee. Lang is a helicopter pilot for North Memorial Air Care and is a major in the Minnesota National Guard. He represents District 17, which includes portions of Chippewa, Kandiyohi, Renville, and Swift counties.
Lang and his wife, Susie, live in rural Olivia. They have two children.
